What is a Gran Fondo?
A Gran Fondo is a type of bicycle ride that originated in Italy and translates to Big Ride. A Gran Fondo is also known as a “party on wheels,” with food and refreshments along the route followed by a huge post-ride party.
Why Participate?
By participating in the Hospice Gran Fondo Bike Ride, you will not only be supporting Niagara Hospice, you will also enjoy a beautiful, scenic ride throughout Niagara Wine Country starting with some pre-ride coffee on us. There are various pit stongs along the route that are stocked with food, water, and gatorade. Many of the pit stops are located at wineries along the Niagara Wine Trail.
During the post-ride party, you'll enjoy the following:
- Live music
- Free wine tastings from Niagara Wine Trail wineries
- Snacks, fruit, food, water, beer, and more
- A Hospice Gran Fondo dri-fit shirt
- Prizes & Awards: Prizes to the team with the most team spirit, fundraising awards and incentives for money raised for Niagara Hospice
- Free parking

5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
*Pre-ride packet pick up is only available to riders that are registered before 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12th.
All other riders must pick up on the day of the ride at Krull Park. Ride day packet pick up starts at 7:00 am at Krull Park.
